• How can I access a formal and complete introduction to the company?

The company shall arrange a 5 day Induction Program to orient you to the company’s philosophy, policies, procedures and business plans and practices. Our recruitment team shall also organize the Introduction Meeting of new employees with top management. You will be intimated about the same by your recruitment head. 

  • What are my working hours?

 Here at Reliance Energy Ltd., we have six working days (Monday- Saturday), with work timings of 9:30 am – 5:00 pm.  Every employee has been given Electronic Attendance Card for marking their attendance by swiping in and out time through the punching machines provided at all the work locations. Any employee punching more than fifteen (15) minutes late and who punches out more than or upto five (5) minutes earlier than their scheduled shift ends, is required to regularize his attendance through Employee Self Services (ESS).   • How and when do I get my Salary?

The salary gets credited to your bank-salary account at the end of every month. You can check your Salary Slip on the ESS facility. However in case you have joined past 17th of a month, your salary for that month shall not be credited to your account.
 

  • How can I save tax? OR I am unable to decide the right mix of Choice Pay Options!

You can save more by opting for the following choice pay elements.


  • Food Coupons: You can opt for food coupons (Sodexho pass) for an amount of Rs 1350 or Rs 2700 per month, repelling income tax at the same time. The list of outlets where the coupons are valid is available on http://www.sodexhoindia.com.

  • Gift Coupons & LTA: The gift coupons or LTA are paid on annual basis. Therefore if opted for, do not form a part of monthly remuneration / compensation.   Under LTA, you can choose any amount maximum upto 2 months Basic per annum. You can avail LTA twice in a block of 4 Calendar years, with at least 5 days of privilege leave.

However, you need to provide a declaration and submit proof of expenditure on journey to the concerned Accounts department. For further details you may refer the Policy Manual on the Intranet.

The CTC options once exercised by you cannot be changed in the middle of the financial year, except in case your CTC changes.

                 

  • HRA (House Rent Allowance): In order to opt for HRA you need to be staying in a rented accommodation. All monthly rent receipts need to be submitted to payroll administrator by December and subsequently every month till March next year.

  • Conveyance

If you don’t have a self-owned two/four-wheeler you can opt for     Conveyance Allowance for traveling from Residence to Office and back to the extent of Rs.800/- per month, which is exempted from tax.  
 

  • Conveyance/ Fuel Maintenance: you can claim Income Tax exemption by giving a declaration form (Also fuel and maintenance bills) in respect of the expenditure incurred on account of fuel and maintenance to the Payroll Administrator. You cannot avail this option for a vehicle registered on the name of the spouse.

  • Children Education and Hostel allowance.

You can avail upto Rs 100 and Rs 300, as child hostel and education allowance respectively.


  • Medical Reimbursements: Medical reimbursements form a part of monthly salary and provide Income Tax exemption, once you provide the medical bills for the same. Submission of medical bills should be initiated maximum by December and subsequently till March of next year, through ESS.

After making entries in ESS, you can generate a form having a unique identification number, which is to be submitted to your respective Payroll Administrator.

  • Super Annuation

You will have an option to join as a member of the superannuation scheme or may desire not to become member of the scheme. In case you desire to join the scheme, there will be a compulsory credit/debit equivalent to the superannuation contribution by the Company in your CTC. However, you will have the option to choose any amount you desire towards superannuation, subject to a maximum ceiling limit of 15% of Basic.


  • Special Personal Allowance

The difference between the Total Choice Pay and all the above mentioned components of Choice pay opted by executive will be called as Special Personal Allowance which will be fully taxable.


  • Statutory Benefits

Gratuity is payable only after the employee completes 5 years service in the company. An amount of 4.81% of Basic per month is deducted towards provision for Gratuity.

You are covered by a Group Personal Accident Insurance, covering partial Disability or complete Disability. The Capital Sum Insured is 100 times of basic + Dearness Allowance (wherever applicable) as on 1st January the respective year of occurrence of the accident which is payable in case of death or total Permanent disability.  The amount payable in case of Partial permanent disability will be proportionate to the level of disability as certified by the Medical officer of the Insurance Company. In case of Temporary Total disability up to 104 weeks subject to the maximum limit of 1% of the Capital Sum Insured. The premium for the Group Accident Benefit Policy is as Rs 180/- per annum.


There is also a premium of Rs.120/- to be paid by the executives is deducted from your annual salary, towards Group Savings Linked Insurance Scheme.

 

  • Is medical reimbursement same as Mediclaim facility?

Mediclaim policy goes a step ahead of medical reimbursements to cover your spouse and two dependent children (upto the age of 24yrs).You can also extend this policy to your parents, with an age limit of 80 yrs. You can avail the aforementioned benefits as long as you are part of the Reliance Energy Limited.

  • Does the company offer me a local mobile connection?

Each level of the organization (starting from management trainees) is given a local CDMA connection. However there are price limits set for each level differing with seniority and requirements of the handset.

  • What are my reimbursement entitlements, in case of business travel?

 

Official travel includes local, outstation or overseas, with prior approval of your reporting officer. You shall be required to produce vouchers / supporting bills wherever required.

Expenses reimbursed are Journey, boarding and lodging, Food & Daily Allowance, and Local travel expenses between residence and railway station, airport or bus stand, while proceeding on tour. All miscellaneous expenses incurred for official purposes such as telegrams, postage, telephone calls and conveyance expenses during the outstation etc. should be claimed separately on actual, based on proof of expenses wherever possible.

  • How do I avail a leave?

All employees are entitled to avail the leave only after confirmation. Any authorized leave availed and during probation period will be adjusted against the accrued leave on confirmation. After confirmation, an employee can avail 10 Casual Leaves, 20 Sick Leaves and 30 Privilege Leaves per year, prorated from the date of Joining. However, for OSD (Officer on Special Duty), the leave entitlement is as mentioned on the appointment letter.

 

  • How will performance be monitored?

We are proud of our well developed Performance Management System wherein your performance will be measured on specific, defined, measurable and time bound goals to be set by you with your reporting officer. a mid-year review of these goals shall be done jointly by you and your reporting officer and take mid-course correction, if required. Year end performance appraisal takes place objectively against the set goals.
